PACE info & tips
Depending upon the patient’s condition and/or healthcare needs, we offer both telemedicine (on-line or by telephone) and on-site appointments. Our telemedicine service allows us to offer cardiac consultations to communities in rural areas that don’t offer cardiac services.
We will call the patient directly to confirm their appointment. Let us know if you would prefer that we confirm appointment details directly with your office.
-
Appointments for cardiac tests are booked within a couple of days upon receipt of your referral to PACE Cardiology. Depending upon the schedules of our physicians, urgency of the referral and the type of cardiac condition in question, cardiac consultations may take a few days to a few weeks to book.
-
In most cases, general cardiac consultation appointments are booked faster than more specialized referrals. If you have not heard back from our office in a timely manner, please call (888)662-0680 or email us at info@pace-cardiology.com.
We offer a full array of cardiac diagnostic testing at our clinics. You can book them using our referral form. If necessary, our cardiologists will book future tests depending upon the patient’s treatment plan.
Our goal is to complete consult notes and/or cardiac test results within 7 business days, but actual delivery times may vary. We can use HRM, fax and secure email distribution. For the most expedient results, please consider using HRM with your EMR vendor.
Depending upon the treatment plan, our medical team will book any required follow-ups with the patient directly.
-
With three locations, scheduling a testing appointment is easy and convenient. However, if your patient lives a far distance from one of our clinics, we will recommend a testing location closest to them.
-
For patients requiring ambulatory monitoring, we are happy to ship the 14 day monitor to the patients who live far from our locations to save them an otherwise unnecessary visit. These monitors will transmit the ECG to our monitoring centre enabling early diagnosis of an arrhythmia, before the monitor is actually returned by the patient.
-
We are able to offer ambulatory monitoring services at our clinics and remotely (remote devices are limited to 14 day holters). The monitoring devices will be shipped to the patient and back to us for analysis, if ordered. Patients will not have to come back to our clinics to have the monitor applied, or to return the monitor. These monitors will transmit the ECG to our monitoring centre enabling early diagnosis of an arrhythmia, before the monitor is actually returned by the patient.
-
Patients can also perform ECGs at home using a HeartCheck CardiBeat Handheld ECG device, which is available for purchase at our clinics, online or one of the alternative devices such as the Apple Watch (generation 4 or newer) or the AliveCor Kardiamobile device. Learn more about our at home ECGs.
